About the Role
Renaissance Learning is seeking a School Account Manager to build and strengthen relationships with K-12 schools and districts while driving sales growth across an assigned territory.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, helping schools evaluate educational technology solutions, renew existing partnerships, and identify opportunities to expand product adoption. You will work closely with customer success teams and internal sales professionals to deliver value-driven solutions that support educators and students.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Growth
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of school and district accounts
- Develop long-term customer relationships focused on retention and expansion
- Identify new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts
- Drive customer renewals, upsell opportunities, and cross-sell initiatives
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and engagement
Consultative Sales
- Understand customer challenges, goals, and educational priorities
- Recommend solutions that align with school and district objectives
- Deliver presentations and product demonstrations to decision-makers
- Build business cases that demonstrate value and impact
- Guide customers through purchasing and renewal processes
Opportunity Management
- Manage sales opportunities from initial outreach through contract completion
- Engage multiple stakeholders throughout the decision-making process
- Utilize CRM systems to track activity and pipeline progress
- Meet or exceed assigned revenue and performance goals
- Maintain accurate forecasting and account planning activities
Industry Expertise
- Stay informed on K-12 education trends and technology developments
- Understand district purchasing cycles, funding sources, and procurement processes
- Develop knowledge of educational leadership roles and decision-making structures
- Provide customers with relevant market insights and best practices
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of professional sales experience
- Strong relationship-building and customer management abilities
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and collaboration tools
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple customer relationships simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently within a remote environment
- Knowledge of education customers and school organizational structures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling products or services within the education sector
- Background in educational technology (EdTech)
- Understanding of K-12 school district purchasing processes
- Strong consultative sales experience
- Demonstrated problem-solving and strategic account management skills
- Experience working with school administrators and district leaders
