Your Role:
As an Automation Engineer at Orion, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the automation systems within their factories, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues to support production.
- Leading automation design for modernization and investment projects, including functional design, defining hardware and software solutions, coordinating with suppliers, and overseeing testing and commissioning.
- Contributing to production development and implementing lifecycle management of production equipment from an automation perspective.
- Creating detailed technical documentation and developing documentation processes.
- Collaborating effectively with automation suppliers and other experts to find optimal solutions.

What You Need to Succeed:
- Relevant education in Automation (B.Sc or M.Sc in Engineering) and prior work experience.
- A strong understanding of PLC-controlled machines.
- Proven skills and experience in functional design.
- Excellent documentation skills and the ability to improve documentation processes.
- Fluency in both spoken and written Finnish and English.
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and open communication.
Bonus Points:
- Knowledge of automation systems such as Siemens S7/PCS7, Schneider, Systech, and machine vision systems.
- Electrical skills and qualifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Cadmatic and hardware design.
- Familiarity with laboratory automation.
- Database and programming skills.
