About the Role
Intapp is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to oversee sales commission accounting, commission operations, and financial processes related to incentive compensation programs. This leadership position combines technical accounting expertise, systems management, process improvement, and team leadership responsibilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with finance, revenue, sales operations, payroll, legal, and human resources teams to ensure commission programs are accurately administered, properly accounted for, and aligned with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Commission Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Manage monthly and quarterly commission accounting activities
- Oversee commission accruals, amortization schedules, and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606 accounting standards
- Support financial reporting and year-end accounting requirements
- Improve financial visibility through accurate reporting and analysis
Commission Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales Operations, Revenue, Payroll, Legal, Human Resources, and FP&A teams
- Translate compensation plans into clear accounting and operational processes
- Resolve commission-related inquiries and escalations
- Ensure compensation programs operate efficiently and accurately
- Support the rollout of new compensation structures and business initiatives
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead administration and optimization of commission management platforms
- Improve automation and reduce manual commission processes
- Support system enhancements and technology integrations
- Ensure data accuracy and scalability as the organization grows
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor commission accounting professionals
- Establish performance goals and development plans
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence
- Support strategic projects impacting finance and commission operations
- Build a customer-focused and service-oriented team culture
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Maintain strong internal controls over commission processes
- Ensure SOX compliance and proper documentation procedures
- Support internal and external audit activities
- Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks
- Strengthen controls through ongoing process evaluation
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Significant experience managing commission accounting within SaaS or subscription-based businesses
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
- Experience with commission capitalization and amortization processes
- Experience working in publicly traded companies
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Experience partnering with executive stakeholders and sales teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing incentive compensation platforms such as Varicent, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or similar solutions
- Experience with financial systems implementations
- Advanced NetSuite experience
- Experience leading international teams
- Background supporting large-scale finance transformation initiatives
- Experience managing global commission programs
