About the Role

LawnStarter is seeking a Director of Paid Social & Video to lead customer and service-provider acquisition through paid social advertising and video marketing channels.

This role is responsible for building, managing, and scaling paid acquisition programs across platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. The successful candidate will oversee the complete customer journey—from awareness and consideration to conversion and remarketing—while ensuring campaigns remain profitable and aligned with business objectives.

This is a hands-on leadership position that combines strategic planning, campaign execution, data analysis, and team development. Initially, you will personally manage channel performance and testing initiatives before helping build and scale a dedicated paid social team.

Key Responsibilities

Paid Social Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute paid social acquisition strategies across major advertising platforms
  • Manage campaigns targeting both homeowners and service providers
  • Optimize campaign performance using customer acquisition and profitability metrics
  • Oversee audience targeting, bidding strategies, budget allocation, and creative direction
  • Expand into emerging paid media opportunities as appropriate

Full-Funnel Growth Marketing

  • Build awareness, consideration, conversion, and remarketing campaigns
  • Design customer acquisition programs across multiple market segments
  • Improve conversion efficiency throughout the marketing funnel
  • Develop strategies that support long-term marketplace growth
  • Align marketing efforts with broader business objectives

Performance Analytics & Optimization

  • Monitor campaign performance and key growth metrics
  • Analyze customer acquisition costs, conversion rates, and return on investment
  • Identify opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness
  • Manage budgets across markets, service categories, and seasonal demand cycles
  • Make data-driven recommendations to improve profitability and scalability

Testing & Experimentation

  • Create a structured testing framework for creative, audiences, messaging, and funnel optimization
  • Develop repeatable experimentation processes
  • Monitor creative performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Implement continuous learning and optimization practices
  • Scale successful campaigns based on performance insights

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with product, analytics, design, SEO, and growth teams
  • Collaborate on acquisition and retention initiatives
  • Share marketing insights that support broader business decisions
  • Influence product and customer experience improvements through data and feedback
  • Help establish best practices for performance marketing operations

Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing paid social function
  • Establish hiring plans and team structures as growth demands increase
  • Mentor future team members and support professional development
  • Create scalable processes and performance standards
  • Foster a results-driven and collaborative culture

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience managing paid social advertising campaigns
  • Strong understanding of Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and digital acquisition channels
  • Proven success optimizing customer acquisition performance
