About the Role
Olsson is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead site development and land design projects throughout Nebraska. This position is responsible for overseeing complex engineering projects from planning and design through execution and completion.
The successful candidate will manage project teams, coordinate client relationships, oversee budgets and schedules, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. This role is ideal for engineering professionals who enjoy balancing technical expertise with leadership, client service, and project management responsibilities.
Candidates may work remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or from one of Olsson’s Nebraska offices while supporting projects throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead site development and land design projects from initiation through completion
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Monitor project progress and ensure successful delivery of project objectives
- Manage project risks and implement solutions to address challenges
- Coordinate project activities across multiple teams and disciplines
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related communication
- Support contract negotiations and project agreements
- Identify opportunities for future work and long-term client partnerships
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout project lifecycles
Technical Oversight
- Review engineering designs and technical deliverables
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and contract requirements
- Coordinate quality assurance and quality control activities
- Support the successful execution of site design and development projects
- Maintain detailed project documentation and records
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Assemble and coordinate project teams
- Assign responsibilities based on technical expertise and project requirements
- Mentor junior engineers and design professionals
- Promote project management best practices across the team
- Support professional growth and team development initiatives
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture
- Minimum 8 years of experience in site design and land development
- Proven project management experience including budget, schedule, and scope management
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines
- Experience working on complex engineering and development projects
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Landscape Architect license
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Knowledge of commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use developments
- Strong contract management experience
- Experience mentoring engineering teams
- Familiarity with regional land development regulations and permitting processes
- Experience managing high-priority or multi-phase development projects
