Role Overview
The Accountant will handle a diverse range of intricate accounting responsibilities under limited supervision. This role requires broad knowledge of accounting practices, including journal entry verification, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. The Accountant will play a key role in enhancing the effectiveness of accounting processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting the organization’s financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify journal entries and accounting classifications according to IFRS and Volvo Group Financial Policies.
- Analyze financial records and reports; provide recommendations for reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Manage Accounts Payables (P2P), Accounts Receivables (O2C), Record to Report (R2R), tax matters, and other accounting procedures. - Assist in monthly closing activities and weekly supplier and employee payments.
- Perform rolling cash forecasts and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries; coordinate and review accounting work for accuracy.
- Respond to partner needs and provide backup support within other accounting areas.
- Prepare various management reports and suggest process improvements to enhance performance.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, participate in audits, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in projects to support organizational goals and financial operations.
Key Performance Targets
- Maintain compliance with Volvo GAAP, local GAAP, and internal control objectives.
- Ensure high-quality FCA reporting and meet partner requirements.
- Support the realization of Volvo Group Finance’s vision through accurate, timely, and insightful accounting.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience and Skills:
- 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience
- Experience with SAP or S/4HANA ERP systems
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Broad knowledge in accounting processes and financial reporting
- Experience in process improvement initiatives
