Role Summary
The Quality Lead position offers a dynamic opportunity within APA’s Infrastructure Delivery division. Reporting directly to the Head of Quality & Commissioning, the role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance frameworks across project delivery, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other industry standards.
The Quality Lead will guide a team while coordinating the planning, execution, and monitoring of quality management plans across major infrastructure projects, supporting both operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Areas of Contribution
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Implement and maintain quality systems across projects to align with ISO 9001 standards and relevant industry regulations.
- Coordinate inspections with external providers and review supplier/contractor documentation to ensure compliance.
- Project Support & Leadership
- Work alongside project teams, procurement, and package engineers to uphold quality standards.
- Lead and mentor quality teams, embedding improvement initiatives and supporting staff development.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between customers, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring quality requirements are met.
- Attend and contribute to project and contractor meetings, reinforcing APA’s commitment to quality.
- Process Improvement & Tools
- Identify, implement, and manage tools and methodologies to monitor and enhance project performance.
- Promote training initiatives that strengthen quality assurance practices and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
Essential Background
- Demonstrated experience in quality management within large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally within the gas or renewable energy sectors.
- Strong capability in building, refining, and implementing quality management systems and frameworks.
- Proven record of achieving results through operational efficiency and commercial acumen.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, aligned with APA’s core behaviours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lead Auditor certification (or auditing experience) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with regulatory codes and industry standards within energy and infrastructure projects.
