Role Summary

The Area Product Owner for RAN L2 Software plays a critical role in shaping future releases of mobile infrastructure. The role focuses on defining, planning, and delivering software features for Mobile Infrastructure customers. The Area Product Owner collaborates closely with other Area Product Owners to ensure aligned feature delivery, clear ownership, and smooth execution across departments.

This position requires a strong balance of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and execution discipline within large-scale telecommunications programs.

Core Inputs

The Area Product Owner works with clearly defined program and organizational inputs, including:

  • Program content and delivery schedules
  • Prioritized product backlogs
  • System and product test plans
  • Program level objectives and targets
  • Quality benchmarks and compliance goals
  • Standardized processes and engineering tools
  • Organizational transformation and OEP targets
  • Location-based planning strategies

Key Deliverables

The role is accountable for producing and maintaining essential delivery artifacts, such as:

  • Area-specific backlog covering all assigned deliverables
  • Feature backlog and sprint commitment plans
  • Risk identification and mitigation actions
  • Continuous monitoring of release execution
  • Cross-area release risk mitigation plans
  • Program delay analysis and reporting
  • Definition of Done declarations for owned features

Primary Responsibilities

The Area Product Owner is responsible for the full ownership of deliverables within the assigned area. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring end-to-end delivery of integrated features within Feature Ownership Teams
  • Managing and owning backlog items and area commitments
  • Planning the hardware needs required for area-level delivery
  • Leading the planning, execution, and reporting of all tests related to owned features
  • Converting placeholder effort items into fully defined backlog items to reflect accurate feature scope
  • Ensuring all Definition of Done requirements are met during feature backlog and sprint exit reviews
  • Monitoring automation targets and actively improving automation ratios

Required Education and Experience

  • Proven experience working across multiple technical domains with a broad system-level understanding
