About the Role

ICON Strategic Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Contracts & Agreements Specialist to support contract review, negotiation, and administration activities within clinical research operations.

This position is ideal for legal professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of healthcare, clinical research, and contract management. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, sponsors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure agreements are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

The role offers an opportunity to contribute to important clinical development programs while building expertise in healthcare contract management and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

Contract Review & Analysis

  • Review and evaluate contracts, agreements, and legal documentation related to clinical research and business operations.
  • Analyze contract language to identify risks, obligations, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure agreements align with company standards, regulatory guidelines, and client expectations.
  • Recommend revisions and improvements where necessary.

Contract Negotiation

  • Participate in negotiations with sponsors, vendors, and business partners.
  • Assist in resolving contractual concerns and clarifying terms and conditions.
  • Support the development of mutually beneficial agreements while protecting organizational interests.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to facilitate timely contract execution.

Contract Administration

  • Maintain accurate contract records and documentation throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Track milestones, deadlines, deliverables, and renewal dates.
  • Ensure contract management systems remain current and organized.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance initiatives.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify potential contractual risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Assist teams in understanding contractual obligations and compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance on contract interpretation and issue resolution.
  • Support adherence to industry regulations and internal policies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with legal, operations, clinical, finance, and project management teams.
  • Support internal stakeholders with contract-related questions and documentation needs.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance contract efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in special projects related to clinical development operations.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Communications, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in contract administration, legal operations, contract management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience within clinical research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences environments preferred.
  • Experience reviewing and managing complex contractual documents.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
    • Outlook
  • Experience working with electronic signature platforms such as Adobe Sign.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems and document tracking tools.

  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience working with vendor agreements and sponsor contracts.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management best practices.
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or healthcare organizations.
