Senior Security Operations Engineer – Cloud Security & Automation

Job Overview

The Senior Security Operations Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving security controls across Tines’ cloud infrastructure and enterprise environments. The role focuses on security automation, vulnerability management, threat detection, incident response, compliance, and continuous improvement of operational security practices.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams while helping build scalable security capabilities using automation throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead security initiatives that protect company infrastructure, customers, employees, and business operations.
• Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and implement preventive security controls.
• Conduct security assessments of infrastructure and new product capabilities.
• Maintain and improve security policies, standards, and operational procedures.
• Expand detection and incident response capabilities across production and corporate environments.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Support employee security awareness and training initiatives.
• Review and investigate automated security alerts requiring human analysis.
• Perform proactive threat hunting activities.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and serve as incident commander during security events.
• Deploy, validate, and maintain security controls across cloud infrastructure and endpoint environments.
• Develop automation workflows to improve security operations using the Tines platform.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 96 months of experience working in security roles supporting complex cloud environments.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong expertise in cloud security using AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience deploying, securing, monitoring, and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of container technologies including Docker, Amazon ECS, and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with AWS security services such as CloudTrail, GuardDuty, CloudWatch, Security Hub, Inspector, and Config.
• Experience implementing and maintaining compliance controls for frameworks including SOC 2, ISO, CMMC, and FedRAMP.
• Experience automating security operations using SOAR platforms or programming languages such as Python or Go.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and macOS security hardening.
• Experience performing command-line administration and security log analysis.
• Experience participating in on-call incident response rotations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical teams.

Work Arrangement

• Remote position based within the United States.
• Reports to the Security Operations Manager.

Compensation

The target annual salary range for this position is $160,000 to $170,000 USD.
