Position Overview

ADNOC L&S is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Specialist for its Business Development (Origination) team. This role is central to diagnosing business performance, guiding strategic planning, and supporting data-driven decision-making across all business units. The successful candidate will transform complex data into actionable intelligence, directly influencing the company’s growth trajectory and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities

The Specialist’s role is multifaceted, focusing on the following core areas:

1. Data Analysis & Business Intelligence

  • Analyze business data to assess the performance of various business lines and diagnose underlying performance issues.
  • Ensure data quality and increase data availability by gathering and integrating information from multiple sources, including internal business operations and external governmental agencies.

2. Strategic Planning & Forecasting

  • Provide critical support for strategic and operational planning by analyzing historical transactional data and market trends.
  • Assist in developing accurate sales budget forecasts by integrating market intelligence to refine mathematical models and set business unit targets.

3. Performance Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Collaborate with the ITD business intelligence team to develop, maintain, and enhance organizational dashboards and business performance reports.
  • Enable business units to monitor their performance through clear, accessible data visualization effectively.

4. Initiative Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with commercial, operations, asset integrity, legal, finance, and HSE departments to develop and support new business initiatives.
  • Follow up with business units on the status of support studies and assist in implementing recommendations and corrective actions.

5. Financial Modeling & Market Research

  • Conduct continuous macro, trend, market, and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop sophisticated financial models to assess the viability of various business cases and support the Policy, BPR, and Market Research teams in creating factual business scenarios for senior management.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong quantitative background. They possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, strategic insights that drive business growth.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics or Mathematics is essential; an MBA is preferable.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in information analysis and business performance management.
  • Proven expertise in statistical techniques, modeling, research design, and analysis is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in SAS or other statistical software is a distinct advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical/statistical skills.
  • Intense training, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is highly advantageous.
