Product Owner – Regulated Healthcare Software
Clario, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is hiring a Product Owner to help translate product strategy into actionable work for Agile software teams. This role supports regulated technology used across clinical trials, diagnostics, and medical decision-making environments.
You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Architects, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to manage the team backlog, refine requirements, support planning, and help ensure successful product releases.
Job Overview
As Product Owner, you will take responsibility for maintaining and prioritizing the Agile team backlog while converting product requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria. The role requires strong collaboration across technical and business teams, particularly in a regulated software environment where quality, traceability, and delivery discipline are important.
The position is listed as remote across the United States, Quebec, and Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, prioritize, and maintain the Agile team backlog.
- Ensure user stories, defects, and technical enablers remain aligned with business priorities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, subject matter experts, Architects, and Engineering teams.
- Translate product features and business requirements into clear, actionable user stories.
- Define acceptance criteria that support effective development and testing.
- Prepare for and support Sprint Planning, Program Increment Planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Provide clarification to development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Coordinate dependencies and identify potential delivery risks.
- Work across teams to support successful product releases.
- Help ensure delivery complies with applicable quality and software development processes.
- Demonstrate completed functionality during sprint reviews.
- Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
- Monitor delivery metrics and identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness and product value.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 36+ months of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar role supporting Agile software development and product delivery.
- Experience translating business requirements into user stories.
- Experience defining acceptance criteria and managing product backlogs.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD concepts.
- Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, planning, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating with geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to influence decision-making across multiple organizational levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
