About the Role
Speechify is seeking an experienced Senior iOS Software Engineer to help drive the continued growth and innovation of its flagship mobile application.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a product used by millions of people while contributing to new features, performance improvements, and user experience enhancements. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with product thinking and enjoys working in a fast-moving environment where engineering decisions directly impact customers.
As a key member of the engineering team, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to create intuitive mobile experiences that support Speechify’s mission of making information more accessible.
Key Responsibilities
iOS Product Development
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality features for the Speechify iOS application.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable production code.
- Contribute to the architecture and long-term technical direction of the mobile platform.
- Continuously improve application performance, reliability, and usability.
Product Collaboration
- Participate in product planning and roadmap discussions.
- Partner with designers and product teams to create exceptional user experiences.
- Evaluate new feature ideas and provide technical recommendations.
- Help balance innovation, quality, and speed of delivery.
Technical Leadership
- Contribute to important engineering and product decisions.
- Promote software development best practices and coding standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the development lifecycle.
- Mentor teammates and share technical knowledge when needed.
Platform Optimization
- Maintain and improve existing application architecture.
- Identify opportunities to improve code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Enhance mobile workflows, deployment processes, and engineering efficiency.
- Support CI/CD and automation initiatives to streamline releases.
Required Qualifications
Professional Experience
- Proven experience developing and shipping large-scale iOS applications.
- Track record of contributing to successful software products from concept through growth.
- Experience working within agile, high-growth technology environments.
- Strong understanding of customer-focused product development.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Swift.
- Experience building applications with SwiftUI.
- Knowledge of multithreaded programming and concurrent systems.
- Experience working with Git and modern version control workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Experience using Fastlane for mobile development workflows.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles and clean code practices.
- Ability to apply SOLID principles in application development.
