The Role
The Naval Gas Turbine Field Service Representative will serve as a technical expert, providing on-site and remote support to U.S. Naval Customers and Shipyards. This role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing naval gas turbine systems to minimize downtime and uphold operational excellence.
The position demands adaptability, technical depth, and strong customer relations. The selected individual will represent Rolls-Royce at the front line of customer operations, ensuring naval assets operate at peak performance.
Primary Duties
- Conduct maintenance, repairs, and commissioning work on Rolls-Royce gas turbine equipment in accordance with technical manuals.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with QA/QC standards.
- Prepare detailed service and maintenance reports for recordkeeping.
- Provide real-time technical guidance to Naval teams, ensuring smooth operations.
- Review engineering modifications and communicate their operational impact to customers.
- Maintain close coordination with customer teams and Rolls-Royce management to ensure seamless integration.
- Travel extensively (up to 70%) across domestic and international sites, often on short notice.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in gas turbine maintenance or operation.
- OR an associate degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
- Hands-on expertise in Rolls-Royce Naval Gas Turbine products (MT30, AG9140 packages preferred).
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- U.S. Citizenship (eligible for DoD Security Clearance).
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
Preferred:
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience supporting naval or marine propulsion systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage field service operations independently.
