Contract Full Stack Web Developer (React & WordPress)
Yoko Co is looking for a Contract Full Stack Web Developer with strong React and WordPress experience to support the continued development of a web application focused on helping people better understand conflict through improved self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
This remote contract opportunity is open to applicants worldwide. The successful candidate will collaborate with a distributed team while maintaining at least two hours of overlap with standard U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Job Overview
As a Full Stack Web Developer, you will enhance an existing application by improving the user interface, expanding functionality, and maintaining integrations between React and WordPress components. The role combines front-end development with back-end enhancements and content management improvements while supporting an iterative product development process.
You will collaborate with designers and project stakeholders to deliver sustainable, maintainable solutions and contribute to regular development cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Continue developing and improving the existing web application.
- Build new features and enhancements using React.
- Improve application presentation, layout, and user experience.
- Develop and extend WordPress functionality supporting the application.
- Create new WordPress content sections and administrative capabilities.
- Maintain integrations between React components and WordPress-managed content.
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and functionality where required.
- Integrate and maintain REST API and GraphQL connections.
- Participate in project meetings to review progress and coordinate upcoming work.
- Deliver maintainable solutions that support ongoing product iteration and future enhancements.
- Contribute to recurring development cycles involving feedback, revisions, and feature improvements.
Required Qualifications
- At least 60 months of experience developing modern web applications.
- Strong experience building applications with React.
- Experience developing with WordPress, including custom plugins, functionality, integrations, and data structures.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Working knowledge of PHP.
- Working knowledge of MySQL.
- Strong JavaScript development experience.
- Proficiency with HTML and CSS.
- Experience integrating REST APIs.
- Experience working with GraphQL.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented approach.
- Commitment to continuous professional learning.
- Availability to work with at least two hours of overlap during 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time.
