About the Role
Speechify is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers critical services across the company’s growing product ecosystem.
You will contribute to the development of scalable APIs, cloud-native services, payment systems, authentication services, subscription management platforms, analytics infrastructure, and next-generation AI-powered products.

Key Responsibilities
Backend Platform Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Build and improve authentication, subscription, payment, and usage-tracking systems.
- Develop reliable infrastructure that supports millions of users across multiple platforms.
- Ensure high availability, security, and performance of backend applications.
API Architecture & Integration
- Create and optimize internal and external APIs.
- Support integrations with enterprise customers and third-party services.

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Proven background in backend software development.
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Understanding of scalable distributed systems and modern backend architecture.
- Strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills.
