About the Role
Boston Medical Center is seeking an AWS Cloud Security Engineer to help strengthen and support its cloud security operations.
This role focuses on securing AWS environments, implementing security best practices, supporting compliance initiatives, and helping teams build secure cloud-based solutions. You’ll work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to protect sensitive systems while enabling innovation across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Designing and implementing cloud security solutions within AWS environments
- Supporting security architecture reviews and cloud infrastructure projects
- Developing and enforcing cloud security policies and standards
- Monitoring cloud environments for threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks
- Managing security tools and services across AWS platforms
- Supporting incident response and cloud security investigations
- Conducting vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts
- Collaborating with infrastructure and application teams to improve security posture
- Documenting security procedures, standards, and operational processes
- Assisting with workforce security awareness initiatives
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior security team members
- Evaluating new security technologies and cloud protection strategies

- 3+ years of AWS cloud security experience
- 4+ years of information security experience
- 7+ years of overall IT experience

- Cloud Monitoring & Logging
- Vulnerability Management
- Experience with:
- AWS GuardDuty
- Security Hub
- Macie
- Inspector
- CloudTrail
- CloudWatch
- AWS WAF
- AWS Shield
- Knowledge of:
- Terraform
- CloudFormation
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Python or Shell Scripting
- Strong understanding of networking, security architecture, and cloud operations
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification
- AWS Security Specialty Certification
- CISSP, CCSP, CEH, or Security+ certification
- Healthcare industry experience
- HIPAA compliance knowledge
