About the Role
The Podcast Consultant is hiring a remote Account Manager to serve as the main point of contact for retainer clients. This role is focused on client communication, relationship management, production coordination, documentation, and account health monitoring.
You will help clients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout the podcast production process. The role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in a growing company where processes are still being improved.
This is not just a customer service position. You will own client relationships, keep projects moving, flag risks early, and make sure every client receives a professional and consistent experience.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned podcast clients
- Onboard new clients and set clear expectations from the beginning
- Lead monthly client strategy calls and regular communication touchpoints
- Maintain weekly contact with clients when episodes are going live
- Build trust by providing clear updates, thoughtful guidance, and timely follow-up
Production Coordination
- Act as the communication bridge between clients and the production team
- Share client feedback with the correct internal team members
- Communicate production concerns, submission errors, or missing items to clients
- Help resolve production-related issues quickly and professionally
- Keep clients informed when timelines, deliverables, or expectations need attention
Account Health Monitoring
- Track client engagement, satisfaction, production consistency, and possible churn risks
- Identify warning signs such as missed episodes, delayed payments, unresolved complaints, or reduced client communication
- Escalate at-risk accounts before problems grow
- Submit weekly reports covering active clients, account risks, recent touchpoints, and completed strategy calls
- Help leadership maintain visibility into the health of every client relationship
Documentation & CRM Management
- Keep client records accurate and up to date
- Document calls, concerns, follow-ups, production notes, and important decisions
- Track lifecycle status, client needs, next steps, and production flags
- Ensure the CRM reflects the real status of each account
- Maintain organized records so the team can support clients effectively
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in account management, client success, customer success, or another client-facing role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent follow-up habits and attention to detail
- Strong organization and calendar management skills
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships at the same time
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Ability to handle ambiguity and help improve processes as the company grows
- Professional judgment when communicating with clients and internal teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an agency, startup, media company, or high-growth environment
- Familiarity with ClickUp or similar project management tools
- Interest in podcasting, media, content production, or creator-led businesses
- Experience supporting recurring clients or retainer-based accounts
- Comfortable building repeatable systems and improving workflows
