Position Overview
APA is seeking a highly motivated IOC System Controller to join its Integrated Operations Centre team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Team Lead – Control Room, the successful candidate will collaborate with a dynamic control room team to ensure safe and efficient operations across APA’s energy infrastructure. This role offers opportunities to contribute to projects, maintenance, and commercial activities while gaining experience in a state-of-the-art operations environment.
Key Duties & Impact
- Operate SCADA systems to manage safe asset operations and maintain plant integrity.
- Optimise gas grid assets, including the compression fleet, to enhance reliability and commercial outcomes.
- Maintain pipeline inventory within technical and commercial operating limits.
- Monitor and maintain emerging electrical assets, including renewable energy installations.
- Coordinate activities and responses with external parties, other control rooms, and energy market operators.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Energetic and proactive with a strong willingness to learn.
- Keen interest in the energy market.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in small teams and foster a positive team culture.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to quickly learn custom software systems.
- Capability to work a rotating 12-hour shift roster.
Highly Regarded:
- Experience in the gas or hydrocarbons processing industry.
- Practical knowledge of field process operations and control room environments.
- Strong technical background in process plant control and operations.
