Position Summary
Nokia is seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Relations Manager to join its Chennai facility. This role focuses on fostering strong relationships between management, employees, and trade unions. The ideal candidate will manage labour relations, resolve workplace disputes, negotiate collective agreements, and ensure compliance with Indian labour laws. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on employee engagement and industrial harmony in a manufacturing environment.
Key Impact
- Develop and implement industrial relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships between management, employees, and trade unions.
- Negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements to ensure fair outcomes.
- Address employee grievances, disputes, and disciplinary proceedings promptly and effectively.
- Oversee flexible workforce resources and compliance, including government apprenticeship schemes.
- Liaise with local authorities and government departments regarding labour regulations and compliance.
Required Professional
Education & Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field.
- 15–20 years of experience in industrial relations, labour relations, or HR management, preferably in manufacturing or medium-scale industrial settings.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian labour laws, collective bargaining processes, and employee relations best practices.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, grievance handling, and industrial dispute management.
- Proficient in communication skills in Tamil and English.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to assess situations and implement practical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in conflict resolution, labour law compliance, or employee relations.
- Familiarity with conciliation, mediation, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Experience with labour court representation and legal proceedings.
- Awareness of labour market trends impacting employee relations.
