The Role in Context

Within the AI Architecture domain, the Architect AI Data Strategy plays a central role in enabling the CARIAD ADAS stack to operate as an AI driven system. The team focuses on deploying, optimizing, and managing the performance of AI models while steering the broader AI development landscape within the organization.

This position carries organization wide technical authority and ensures that AI data foundations across the ADAS and AD stack remain robust, scalable, and aligned with long term strategic goals.

Core Responsibilities

1. AI Data Strategy and Governance

The role defines and continuously refines a group wide AI data strategy covering real world, synthetic, and simulation data. It establishes principles for data sourcing, curation, and lifecycle management to ensure sustainable model development.

In addition, the architect sets technical standards, governance frameworks, and architectural guardrails that guide product lines and engineering teams across the organization.

2. End to End Data Architecture

The position holds responsibility for the full data architecture within the ADAS and autonomous driving stack. This includes defining and enforcing guidelines related to data quality, validation processes, and representativity to support safety critical AI systems.

A strong focus lies on building resilient and scalable ML, data, and simulation platforms that enable continuous integration and improvement of AI models.

3. Cross Functional Alignment and Strategic Steering

The Architect AI Data Strategy ensures alignment across multiple product lines and expert domains. Through structured coordination with engineering, product, and research teams, the role drives consistency in technical direction and implementation.

Furthermore, the architect represents CARIAD in technical committees, professional conferences, and publications, thereby contributing to the advancement of AI practices within the automotive industry.
