Role Summary
Fannie Mae seeks a Single Family Market Engagement Lead Associate to join its Product Management function. This position drives the design, enhancement, and lifecycle management of digital products that support the organization’s Single Family business.

The selected professional will guide feature development from requirements gathering through deployment, while ensuring that strategic priorities align with business objectives. In addition, the role requires collaboration with multiple squads and stakeholder groups to deliver cohesive, scalable platform solutions.
Core Areas of Responsibility
Product Lifecycle Ownership
The Lead Associate assumes full responsibility for features and integrations at the squad level. This includes translating business needs into detailed requirements, guiding development efforts, and optimizing product performance after launch.
Strategic Roadmap Development
Working closely with program leadership, the role shapes the product roadmap by analyzing business demands, evaluating technical feasibility, and recommending data-driven prioritization decisions.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Because enterprise platforms involve interconnected systems, the Lead Associate manages dependencies across teams and ensures that initiatives progress in alignment with broader organizational goals.
Agile Delivery Leadership
The position supports mature Agile and Scrum practices by leading backlog refinement, sprint planning, and daily coordination activities. The role leverages tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Apptio Targetprocess to maintain transparency and momentum in delivery.
Change Enablement and Adoption
Recognizing that technology succeeds only when widely adopted, the Lead Associate supports change initiatives by developing training resources and championing user engagement.
Testing and Validation Oversight
The role coordinates User Acceptance Testing and ensures that business stakeholders feel supported during validation cycles, thereby strengthening overall product quality.
Team Mentorship
The Lead Associate provides structured guidance to junior product managers and subject matter experts, elevating execution standards and fostering consistency across the team.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of four years of product management experience
- Demonstrated experience owning a development squad backlog within an Agile or Scrum environment
- Proficiency with product management tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and strategic manner
- Familiarity with major CRM platforms, including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting digital product design and development initiatives
- Background in sales enablement tool deployment and connected user experience delivery
- Knowledge of Organizational Change Management practices
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust across diverse teams
Work Environment and Flexibility
This position follows a flexible work model. Employees are generally expected to work onsite at their designated office location regularly, with cadence determined by management. Proximity to Reston, VA, or Washington, DC is preferred unless otherwise approved.
Compensation and Benefits
The hiring range for this role is $123,000 to $161,000. Final compensation varies based on skills, experience, certifications, and relevant qualifications.
