Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager, Medical and Scientific Affairs, plays a central role in leading impactful strategic initiatives across Internal Operations and Strategic Operations. The position supports the Associate Vice President for Medical and Scientific Affairs by shaping strategic direction, aligning medical and marketing priorities, ensuring excellence across the lifecycle, and launching projects that advance organizational objectives.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Project Leadership

The role holder proactively identifies, prioritizes, and executes strategic initiatives aligned with organizational capacity and Novo Nordisk priorities. Projects are planned and delivered with endorsement from senior leadership, while maintaining clear timelines and measurable outcomes.

Portfolio and Process Optimization

The position focuses on improving and aligning portfolio processes. This includes identifying operational improvements, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and securing project approval across relevant stakeholders.

Cross-Functional and Global Coordination

The Senior Project Manager manages Global Business Services project management resources based in Bangalore and coordinates delivery across internal teams. Through effective resource planning, the role ensures the execution of existing initiatives and efficient execution.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

Strong stakeholder networks are built and maintained across internal teams, affiliates, senior management, and external opinion leaders. The role anticipates stakeholder needs, supports informed decision making, and communicates project outcomes while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Department and Collaboration

The role sits within Medical and Scientific Affairs under Internal Operations, Strategic Operations. The Senior Project Manager works closely with the Associate Vice President, Directors, and cross-functional teams across regions, affiliates, research and development, and headquarters. Collaboration with Legal, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, IT, and other project teams is essential to deliver strategic priorities in a dynamic environment.

Candidate Profile

Education Requirements

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in business or a related discipline, or possess equivalent professional experience.

Professional Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate brings five to eight years of relevant experience, including at least five years in project management within preferably global environments. Advanced expertise in project planning tools, portfolio management, and complex delivery structures is required. The role demands strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills, particularly at senior and executive levels.

Personal Attributes

Success in this role requires a high level of independence, sound decision-making, and the ability to prioritize in a complex matrix organization. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
