Senior IT Operations Engineer

Job Overview

As a Senior IT Operations Engineer, you will lead initiatives that strengthen Remote’s SaaS ecosystem, macOS device management, AI tool governance, and overall IT infrastructure. The role requires strategic thinking, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to guide projects that improve operational efficiency, security, and scalability across a global remote organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced IT solutions that improve end-user support and enterprise system management.
• Lead projects involving SaaS platforms and enterprise AI tools while maintaining secure and compliant operations.
• Administer enterprise SaaS platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Okta, and related business systems.
• Manage macOS endpoint environments and contribute to device management strategies.
• Assist with deployment, governance, and administration of AI tools including Claude for Work, ChatGPT, and Notion AI.
• Support SaaS audits, access reviews, license management, and usage monitoring.
• Mentor junior IT engineers and encourage knowledge sharing across the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
• Evaluate and recommend IT tools, technologies, and operational improvements.
• Drive initiatives that improve infrastructure scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior IT Operations role with responsibility for enterprise IT infrastructure and end-user support.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise AI tools, including user management, access control, and usage reviews.
• Expert knowledge of macOS administration and enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Experience administering Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, Okta, or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of IT security and compliance practices.
• Leadership experience mentoring technical team members.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working in remote-first environments.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this full-time position is $39,000–$97,000 USD. Final compensation depends on factors including location, skills, experience, business needs, and market conditions.
