Enterprise Technical Solutions Engineer – SaaS Integrations & Solution Architecture

Job Overview

The Enterprise Technical Solutions Engineer serves as a senior technical advisor during enterprise sales engagements. You will collaborate with Sales, Presales, Product, and Engineering teams to develop technical solutions, validate enterprise architectures, demonstrate product capabilities, and solve complex customer challenges involving integrations, identity management, APIs, automation, and cloud technologies.

This position is remote within the United States, with preference for candidates located on either the West Coast or East Coast, and includes occasional business travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales and Presales teams to develop technical solution proposals that align with customer requirements.
• Provide technical expertise covering Smartsheet APIs, Premium Applications, SSO, SAML, and third-party integrations.
• Respond to complex Solutions Engineer Requests submitted through Salesforce.
• Support enterprise opportunities involving API integrations, identity management, architecture validation, and advanced automation.
• Develop proof-of-concept implementations that demonstrate product capabilities.
• Create technical architecture and solution diagrams for enterprise customers.
• Advise customers on integration possibilities across Smartsheet and external technologies.
• Provide technical input for customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
• Identify opportunities to develop new integrations and technical solutions.
• Share customer feedback with Product and Engineering teams to improve future platform capabilities.
• Present technical content during Smartsheet Summits and customer-facing events.
• Create technical documentation, implementation guides, enablement resources, and knowledge-sharing materials for Solution Engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 months of experience as a Solutions Engineer or in a related enterprise SaaS technical role.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understanding of enterprise user and identity management.
• Experience working with APIs and authorization standards including OAuth 2.0, SAML, SSO, and OpenID.
• Knowledge of event-driven workflow automation concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Programming experience using Python or Node.js/JavaScript.
• Willingness to travel periodically based on customer and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
• Experience using GitHub, GitLab, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Knowledge of MEDDIC, SVS, or comparable value-selling methodologies.
• Experience demonstrating and positioning AI capabilities during enterprise sales engagements.
• Experience supporting enterprise software implementations.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $117,500 to $142,500 USD.

Final compensation depends on professional experience, education, technical skills, and work location. The position is also eligible for a market-competitive incentive compensation program.
