Role Overview
The Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician will join Walmart’s facilities maintenance team, supporting and repairing commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment across retail locations. This position involves hands-on technical work using hand tools, power tools, digital devices, and other equipment to maintain high standards of facility operation and maintenance.
Associates in this role play a vital part in enhancing the customer experience, ensuring Walmart stores are safe, efficient, and well-maintained.
Main Responsibilities & Duties
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities’ refrigeration and HVAC systems using commercial HVAC skills.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and repair requests.
- Utilize work order management systems to document repair activities.
- Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Complete all required safety and technical training.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Walmart safety guidelines.
- Lift to 75 pounds, work at heights, and navigate ladders as required.
Desired Profile
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Experience with large-scale rack refrigeration systems.
- Type I/II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean record.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city or state of employment.
