The Role in Focus
The Produce Lead plays a key leadership role in the Produce and Floral department, ensuring operational excellence, team supervision, and outstanding customer service. This position requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about fresh products, member satisfaction, and driving sales performance.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and mentor a team of hourly associates in the Produce and Floral department.
- Communicate departmental goals and company programs clearly while maintaining compliance with policies.
- Collaborate with other team leaders to ensure the entire club meets member expectations.
2. Operational & Business Excellence
- Oversee inventory, production, sanitation, and safety standards within the produce area.
- Manage seasonal demand shifts while prioritizing productivity and profitability.
- Maintain clean, organized, and member-ready displays aligned with layout plans.
3. Digital Tools & Innovation
- Utilize handheld technologies to monitor production, training, and product quality.
- Adopt and encourage the use of digital tools to streamline operations and improve the shopping experience.
4. Talent Development & Growth
- Train, coach, and guide associates to improve skills and foster career growth.
- Identify potential in team members, encourage advancement, and support a culture of learning.
5. Culture, Ethics & Collaboration
- Model Walmart values by acting with integrity and promoting inclusivity.

Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
- 6 months of experience in a fresh production department or 6 months of team supervision.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Completion of required training and assessments within prescribed timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Hourly wages range from $22.00 – $30.00, with additional premiums between $0.35 – $3.00 per hour depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific duties.
