The Opportunity
The Senior Account Manager plays a strategic role in managing and expanding relationships with enterprise clients and channel partners. This position focuses on understanding each client’s commercial objectives and technology landscape, then aligning Telstra’s network infrastructure and digital service capabilities to drive measurable outcomes.
By acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior Account Manager strengthens long-term partnerships, identifies high-value sales opportunities, and ensures the delivery of impactful solutions. Through a consultative and insightful approach, the role directly contributes to Telstra’s sustained growth across APAC and global markets.
Core Areas of Responsibility
Enterprise Account Leadership
The role oversees a portfolio of enterprise customers and strategic channel partners. It requires developing and executing structured account plans to increase revenue while enhancing customer satisfaction. Continuous relationship management ensures long-term commercial success and retention.
Strategic Revenue Growth
The Senior Account Manager identifies new business opportunities by leveraging market intelligence and Telstra’s product capabilities. By collaborating with internal stakeholders, the role ensures that proposals are commercially sound, technically aligned, and positioned for competitive advantage.
Client Experience & Issue Resolution
A strong emphasis is placed on delivering a seamless customer journey. The role responds to inquiries with urgency and professionalism, escalates concerns where required, and maintains proactive communication to protect account health and performance.
Performance Monitoring
The role tracks revenue targets, pipeline progression, and customer satisfaction indicators. Consistent review of performance metrics ensures that account strategies remain effective and aligned with broader organizational goals.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The organization seeks a commercially astute professional who combines strategic thinking with relationship-driven selling. The successful candidate demonstrates confidence in navigating complex enterprise environments and thrives in fast, evolving markets.
Education & Professional Background
A relevant tertiary qualification in business, technology, telecommunications, or a related discipline is advantageous.
The role requires at least 9 years of experience in sales or channel management, ideally in the telecommunications, data center, or technology infrastructure sectors.
Experience & Competencies
- Demonstrated success in selling services across international markets, particularly within APAC.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. French or German language capability is considered advantageous.
- Proven ability to operate independently while managing competing priorities.
- Established enterprise network and relationship capital within relevant industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
