Role Summary
SAP seeks an experienced legal professional to guide the legal operations of SAP Ireland Limited. The role requires strategic oversight, operational leadership, and close collaboration with regional and global legal units. The counsel will work with senior leaders in Ireland and across EMEA. The position is full-time, based in Dublin 24, with hybrid work flexibility.

Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Legal Leadership
The counsel will support the Tech Adoption, MSP, SAP Store Leadership, and EMEA Legal Management teams. The role includes coordinating all legal activities related to the SAP Ireland Market Unit. This involves building strong cross-regional links and shaping legal strategy at multiple levels.
- Executive Advisory
The counsel will guide the Executive Management team. This includes advising the MD and CFO on risks, policies, and legal implications of significant decisions. The counsel will ensure that business strategies align with contractual and legal requirements.
- Sales and Partner Support
The role involves working closely with sales teams and partner management. The counsel will support high-value deals, manage escalations, deliver legal training, and help teams understand contract priorities. Building trusted relationships with account executives and sales managers is essential.
- Team Guidance
The counsel will coach and develop legal professionals involved in SAP Ireland transactions. The aim is to build a high-performing legal function with strong internal processes.
- Compliance and Governance
The counsel will manage compliance requirements. This includes data privacy, competition law, consumer law, corporate law, and regulatory duties. The role also collaborates with the Office of Ethics and Compliance on investigations, code-of-conduct matters, and internal governance structures.
- Integration of Acquired Units
The counsel will support the integration of acquired entities. The work includes legal, corporate, and procedural alignment across the Market Unit.
- Dispute and Risk Management
The counsel will manage customer escalations, oversee disputes, and engage external counsel when required. The position demands strong judgment and an ability to handle high-stakes scenarios.
- Public and Institutional Engagement
The role requires strategic insight and the confidence to represent SAP in discussions with public bodies, industry groups, and external forums.
Candidate Profile
The ideal professional brings more than ten years of post-qualification experience in commercial law. A law degree and recognized legal qualifications are required. Strong command of contract law, IT law, and data protection regulations is essential.
