Senior Technical Advisor to the Chief Product & Technology Officer (Remote USA)
Amwell is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Advisor to partner directly with the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). This strategic leadership position combines deep technical expertise with product strategy and business insight to help shape the company’s technology direction, innovation initiatives, and long-term product roadmap.
You will collaborate with executive leadership, engineering, product, clients, and strategic partners while providing guidance on architecture, emerging technologies, healthcare innovation, and enterprise technology strategy.
Job Overview
This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, helping align technology investments with business objectives. The successful candidate will influence product strategy, evaluate new technologies, support strategic partnerships, and represent Amwell in high-level customer and partner discussions while ensuring scalable, reliable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise the Chief Product and Technology Officer on technology strategy and product direction.
- Support development and execution of the company’s technology and product roadmap.
- Promote architecture and design principles that support scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor healthcare technology trends, competitive developments, and regulatory changes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend opportunities for innovation.
- Lead business and technical due diligence for acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and vendor evaluations.
- Provide guidance on technology-related risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Represent Amwell in executive-level meetings with clients and business partners.
- Evaluate client and partner requirements to support strategic product and technology discussions.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business goals.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 120+ months of progressive experience in product management, software engineering, technical leadership, or architecture roles.
- Product strategy experience is required.
- Engineering or software architecture experience is highly preferred.
- 120+ months of Healthcare Technology experience.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong strategic thinking across business and technology domains.
- Hands-on product and/or engineering experience within the past five years.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to represent the organization professionally with executives, clients, and strategic partners.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Technology.
- MBA.
- Experience working with health plans.
- Strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics and competitive strategy.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is $154,560–$200,000 USD. The role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus. Additional long-term incentives or short-term variable compensation may be offered depending on the position.
