About the Role
Qase is hiring a Remote Developer Advocate to represent the company within software development, quality assurance, testing, and AI engineering communities.
This position combines technical knowledge, public communication, community engagement, content development, and product feedback. You will help developers and QA professionals understand practical approaches to testing AI-generated code while bringing real community needs back to Qase’s product, sales, and marketing teams.
The role may suit an experienced Developer Advocate or a software quality professional who wants to move into technical advocacy. Candidates should be comfortable speaking publicly, participating in industry events, and communicating with technical audiences as a knowledgeable peer.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in developer, QA, software testing, and AI engineering communities.
- Represent Qase at meetups, conferences, workshops, dinners, and other industry events.
- Deliver presentations about software quality, automated testing, and AI-assisted development.
- Research emerging challenges related to testing and governing AI-generated code.
- Produce practical technical content, educational resources, and community tools.
- Build relationships with developers, software testers, SDETs, engineering leaders, and open-source contributors.
- Support marketing and sales teams with accurate technical guidance.
- Help internal teams understand the needs, language, and priorities of technical audiences.
- Collect community feedback and communicate useful insights to the product organization.
- Work with event coordinators and commercial teams to support Qase’s field activities in the United States.
- Identify advocacy initiatives that can become repeatable and scalable programs.
- Stay informed about developments in generative AI, software testing, developer tools, and the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in software quality assurance, test engineering, software development, or a related technical field.
- Practical knowledge of software testing, automated testing, development workflows, and quality processes.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools and an understanding of their benefits and limitations.
- Strong interest in public speaking, technical education, and community engagement.
- Willingness to present at conferences, meetups, booths, and customer-facing events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical subjects clearly to different audiences.
- Strong relationship-building and community management abilities.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how advocacy can support business growth.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-changing startup environment.
- Availability for regular travel across North America.
- Residence in North America, preferably near a major airport or technology hub.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Developer Advocate, Developer Relations professional, or technical community leader.
- Public speaking experience at conferences, meetups, workshops, or webinars.
- Published technical articles, newsletters, tutorials, or videos.
- Contributions to open-source testing or developer tools.
- Existing involvement in software testing, QA, AI, or development communities.
- Experience organizing technical events or community programs.
- Knowledge of SDET responsibilities, release management, networking, and software development lifecycle practices.
