About the Role
ClaimSorted is seeking a Claims Recovery Specialist to support and strengthen its recoveries function. This position focuses on identifying recovery opportunities, investigating claims, managing subrogation and recovery activities, and helping maximize claim outcomes for clients.
The successful candidate will take ownership of recovery cases from initial review through resolution while working closely with claims teams, clients, and stakeholders. In addition to handling recoveries, you will help improve workflows, contribute to process development, and support operational growth as the business expands.
This role is ideal for insurance professionals who enjoy analytical work, problem-solving, negotiations, and creating measurable financial impact through effective claims recovery practices.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Recovery Management
- Investigate claims to identify recovery opportunities
- Build and manage recovery cases from start to resolution
- Review documentation and supporting evidence
- Pursue recovery actions and negotiate favorable outcomes
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company standards
Process Improvement
- Help develop and improve recovery workflows and procedures
- Create templates, documentation, and operational guidelines
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and outcomes
- Contribute to the scaling of recovery operations
Team Support & Collaboration
- Partner with claims handlers and internal stakeholders
- Provide guidance on identifying potential recovery opportunities
- Share best practices and subject matter expertise
- Support coaching and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Monitor recovery performance metrics
- Maintain accurate records for audits and reporting
- Prepare updates for internal teams and clients
- Use data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Client Engagement
- Participate in client discussions as a recoveries specialist
- Communicate progress and outcomes professionally
- Support client reporting and performance reviews
- Help strengthen long-term client relationships
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance recoveries, subrogation, or related claims functions
- Strong understanding of claims processes and recovery practices
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using data to support decision-making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records
- Work authorization in the United States
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Dallas, Texas area
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading team members
- Previous experience in a high-growth or startup environment
- Background in property, casualty, or commercial insurance claims
- Experience working directly with insurer clients
- Familiarity with claims management software and reporting tools
