Role Overview

Renault Truck Commercials in Faversham is seeking an experienced Level 3 qualified HGV Technician or Level 3 LCV Technician to join its busy and thriving Kent dealership. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high service standards and ensuring customers’ vehicles are returned to the road safely and efficiently.

Working Hours and Pay

  • 40 hours per week
  • Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:30
  • Late Shift: 13:30 – 22:00
  • Alternate Saturdays: 06:00 – 12:00
  • Additional payments for Saturday mornings, standby, and call-out
  • Pay up to £21 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

The HGV Technician will be expected to:

  • Carry out all work efficiently while following established Service Process Maps
  • Review job requirements and budgets in line with up-front specifications
  • Deliver accurate diagnostic outcomes and clearly define repair solutions
  • Comply with time recording procedures, ensuring correct use of productivity codes
  • Ensure fully specified jobs are passed to the Customer Service Representative for invoicing
  • Apply Standard Times effectively during repairs and servicing

Through consistent performance, the technician will directly support customers’ operational efficiency and business continuity.

Technical Knowledge and Experience

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience as a dealership technician within the commercial vehicle industry
  • Strong understanding of VOSA requirements and the MOT testers’ manual
  • Knowledge of service process stages relevant to the role
  • Solid technical product knowledge
  • Awareness of customers’ operating environments and the impact of vehicle downtime

Skills and Competencies

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Commercial Vehicle Technology (HGV or LCV)
  • An organised and methodical approach to daily tasks
  • The ability to adapt to varying circumstances to achieve positive outcomes
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve issues effectively
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
