Role Summary
The Cloud Engineer Advisor serves as a senior individual contributor within the Cloud Infrastructure and Technology Engineering function. In this capacity, the advisor designs and delivers advanced cloud solutions that address complex business challenges across multiple programs and platforms.
This role requires deep expertise in architecture, engineering, coding, testing, and certification of cloud platforms and enterprise applications. Moreover, the advisor partners closely with Managers and Senior Managers while guiding strategic decisions that influence enterprise cloud adoption.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Cloud Architecture and Engineering
The advisor develops and executes long-term cloud infrastructure strategies that align with enterprise objectives. In addition, they design and implement scalable, secure architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
They also engineer resilient, highly available platforms while integrating modern networking models such as enterprise VPC connectivity and software networking. Fault tolerance, failover design, and recovery strategies remain central to all implementations.
Solution Development and Automation
The role requires hands-on coding to build modern, cloud-native solutions. The advisor leverages Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, JSON, and YAML to automate provisioning and orchestration at scale.
Furthermore, they apply DevOps principles and continuous integration and delivery pipelines to accelerate deployments and improve operational reliability.
Collaboration and Technical Leadership
The advisor collaborates with functional teams to ensure cloud solutions align with broader business objectives. At the same time, they mentor engineers and elevate technical capabilities across teams.
They also prepare executive presentations and detailed technical documentation to guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders in cloud strategy decisions.
Risk Management and Optimization
The position involves identifying architectural risks, troubleshooting complex production issues, and enforcing cloud governance standards. Through analytics and KPI tracking, the advisor continuously improves platform performance while efficiently allocating resources to meet computing demands.
Technical Expertise
Cloud and Infrastructure
- Extensive experience designing secure multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, network architecture, identity management, and enterprise security controls
- Expertise in building cloud accounts, VPC architectures, and enterprise connectivity models
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster resilience frameworks
Automation and Development
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code frameworks
- Strong scripting and programming skills in Shell, Python, PHP, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, and AWS Step Functions
- Experience with cloud native services such as VPC, Lambda, and SNS
- Solid understanding of CI and CD methodologies
Systems, Networking, and Security
- Linux operating systems
- Cloud networking, load balancing, and enterprise connectivity
- Implementation of encryption, access control, and cybersecurity best practices
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards within critical environments
Professional Profile
Required Experience
- Minimum of six years of hands-on experience in engineering cloud platforms in enterprise environments
Preferred Background
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Recognized cloud certifications
- Experience operating within mission-critical systems at large-scale enterprises
Leadership and Advisory Skills
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical reasoning and structured problem-solving. In addition, they advise both technical and business stakeholders on cloud transformation strategies.

Work Environment

Compensation and Benefits
The hiring range for this position is $155,000 to $209,000. Final compensation reflects experience, certifications, technical depth, and overall qualifications.
