Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for strengthening retail performance, improving the sales funnel, managing workforce productivity, and ensuring adherence to structured sales processes. The role also supports dealer networks, digital engagement, working capital rotation, and future sales planning.
Main Responsibilities
- Retail Performance and Sales Funnel Management
The manager oversees the complete E to T to B to R cycle. The role includes generating enquiries, conducting quality test drives, ensuring accurate booking data, and achieving consistent conversions. The manager ensures that retail targets are met. Tracking the ratio between vehicle delivery notes and final retail remains a core part of the function. The role also focuses on monthly forecasting and long-term sales planning.
- Manpower Productivity and Capability Building
The position identifies training needs across the team and ensures skill enhancement. The manager motivates and retains the workforce through incentives and recognition. Adherence to the brand’s sales story is expected at all levels.
- Digital Sales Enablement
The manager ensures high adoption of digital tools such as Test Drive Anytime Anywhere, Personal Voice Assistant, Bring Showroom Home, Virtual Reality experiences, and tablet-based selling. The role ensures quality output from digital engagement managers and aims to boost conversion through digital touchpoints.
- Dealer Operations and Business Efficiency
The role monitors dealer working capital rotation and takes action to reduce market outstanding. The manager oversees aging-stock liquidation and prepares sales forecasts for upcoming months. The role also involves planning and executing market activations to generate strong enquiry flow.
Ideal Profile
Education Background
MBA or a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
Experience Requirements
Three to eight years of experience in core automotive sales or FMCG sales. Intense hands-on exposure to field operations and dealer management is expected.
