Role Summary

The organization seeks an experienced System-on-Chip Architect to contribute to the design, integration, and optimization of advanced SoC hardware architectures. In addition, the role ensures effective collaboration between hardware and software teams to enable efficient co-development. The position supports innovation in scalable, high-performance, and efficient chip platforms.

Primary Responsibility Areas

1. Advanced SoC Architecture Development

The role holder develops scalable SoC architectures for complex applications. Furthermore, the architect ensures optimal performance and power efficiency across system designs.

2. Hardware Design and Integration

The professional leads RTL design, synthesis, and verification activities. In addition, the architect oversees integration flows to ensure robust, high-quality design.

3. Software and Hardware Co-Design

The role collaborates closely with software engineering teams. Therefore, system-level alignment between firmware, drivers, and hardware architecture remains a priority.

4. System Modeling and Validation

The architect performs system-level modeling and simulation to validate architectural decisions. Consequently, early design tradeoffs and performance limits are identified.

5. SoC Implementation Oversight

The position guides floor planning, physical design processes, and timing closure activities. Moreover, best practices in IC design and manufacturing are consistently applied.

6. Performance Analysis and Innovation

The professional analyzes system requirements, identifies bottlenecks, and proposes innovative architectural solutions that enhance overall system capability.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or a PhD is preferred.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Over 15 years of experience in chip design, with at least 8 years in IC design or SoC architecture roles
  • Strong proficiency in Verilog, VHDL, and System Verilog
  • Expertise with EDA tools such as Mentor Graphics, Cadence, or Synopsys
  • Deep understanding of processors, memory subsystems, and interconnect standards, including AXI and AMBA
  • Experience in hardware and software co-design and debugging environments
  • Knowledge of low-power design techniques and methodologies
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Tcl, or Perl for automation
  • Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Microsoft Visio, and QuestaSim

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SystemC and high-level modeling approaches
  • Knowledge of advanced packaging technologies such as chiplets and 3D ICs
  • Exposure to machine learning or AI accelerators in SoC environments
