Role Overview
TMX Group is seeking a Test Automation Programmer Analyst to join its Global Technology Services division on a 12-month contract. This role focuses on the redesign, enhancement, and long-term support of the Clearing Automation Testing framework. The position sits within a multidisciplinary agile team and contributes directly to the evolution and success of core clearing automation tools.
The role follows a hybrid schedule, with two to three days per week based at the Montreal office.

Key Responsibility Areas
Automation Architecture and Product Design
The analyst contributes to the architecture and design of the Clearing Automation Testing product, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Development and Maintenance
The role involves actively developing and supporting the automation framework, with a primary focus on Python and secondary development in C++. Ongoing enhancements and issue resolution are core parts of daily responsibilities.
Real-Time Systems Understanding
A strong understanding of real-time applications is essential, as the role supports systems operating in high-performance and time-sensitive environments.
Agile Collaboration
The analyst works closely with developers, analysts, testers, business analysts, and architects. This includes participating in scrum ceremonies, reviewing requirements, and contributing to design and testing discussions.
Code Quality and Standards
Participation in code reviews is expected, with a strong commitment to enterprise coding standards, clean architecture, and maintainable solutions.
Candidate Profile Background
Required Qualifications
Candidates should hold a university degree in Information Technology or an equivalent discipline. The role requires a minimum of five years of experience with Python scripting and five years of professional C++ development experience.
Strong expertise in designing automated testing solutions, troubleshooting complex software systems, and working with distributed Linux-based environments is essential. Familiarity with Unified Modeling Language is also required.
Fluency in both English and French, written and spoken, is mandatory due to regular interaction with bilingual stakeholders and partners.
