Position Overview:
As a detailee, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the legislative process, contribute to the development of criminal justice legislation, and hone your research, advocacy, and analytical skills. This program fosters collaboration between Congress and the federal defender community.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legislative research and analysis
- Advocate for policies that ensure equal justice under law
- Collaborate with members of Congress and their staff
- Draft legislative proposals and reports
- Monitor and analyze the impact of legislation
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Active bar membership
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Strong interest in criminal justice policy
