Enterprise Solutions and Management is hiring a Cybersecurity Cloud Subject Matter Expert to support secure cloud architecture, compliance, and authorization activities for Department of Defense information systems.

This full-time remote opportunity is listed in Vienna, Virginia and requires an active Top Secret clearance. The role is focused on helping cloud-hosted systems meet DoD security requirements while improving protection, monitoring, detection, and incident-response capabilities.

Job Overview

As the Cybersecurity Cloud Subject Matter Expert, you will review the architecture and design of cloud-hosted systems to determine whether they meet applicable Department of Defense cybersecurity and compliance requirements.

You will evaluate cloud security policies, recommend improvements, support secure system deployment, and provide technical guidance related to vulnerability assessments. The role requires deep knowledge of FedRAMP, cloud authorization processes, security controls, and DoD risk-management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review cloud-hosted system architectures and designs for security and DoD compliance.
  • Evaluate cloud security policies and recommend practical improvements.
  • Help strengthen system capabilities for protection, detection, monitoring, and response.
  • Apply current cloud security engineering practices to support secure program and application deployments.
  • Assess emerging cloud threats and technologies that may affect system security.
  • Provide cybersecurity guidance throughout the system deployment lifecycle.
  • Help ensure cloud systems meet applicable Department of Defense compliance standards.
  • Support authorization activities for cloud-hosted DoD information systems.
  • Advise assessment personnel conducting cybersecurity vulnerability reviews.
  • Provide technical input related to cloud risks, security controls, and remediation strategies.
  • Research complex security challenges and develop practical solutions with limited supervision.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to technical teams, management, and government customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the FedRAMP assessment methodology.
  • Experience applying FedRAMP requirements to cloud-hosted systems in Department of Defense environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security architecture and design principles.
  • Knowledge of secure cloud deployment practices.
  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing security controls within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense information technology environments.
  • Knowledge of DoD compliance requirements, risk-management frameworks, and authorization processes.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity vulnerability-assessment techniques.
  • Knowledge of cloud protection, detection, monitoring, and response strategies.
  • Awareness of current cloud security threats, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices.

Experience and Certification Requirements

  • At least 24 months of experience achieving Authorities to Operate in a cloud environment such as OCI, AWS, or Azure.
  • At least 60 months of experience achieving Authorities to Operate for compartmented Department of Defense information systems.
  • Current cloud certification in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or another relevant cloud platform.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
