Infrastructure & Capital Projects Cost Manager

Job Overview

As a Cost Manager, you will support the financial and commercial management of infrastructure and data center projects. Your work will include preparing cost plans, reviewing benchmarking data, maintaining cost-control reports, supporting risk management, and evaluating the financial impact of design decisions.

You will collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers, designers, and senior cost-management professionals. The position requires strong analytical ability, detailed documentation, construction knowledge, and confidence working across multiple project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare project cost estimates and cost plans using available benchmarking information.
• Support the review and refinement of estimates throughout project development.
• Develop value-engineering and life-cycle-costing options to improve project efficiency.
• Identify cost-related risks and assist with maintaining the project Risk Register.
• Participate in pre-contract process meetings and provide relevant cost information.
• Create and maintain cost-control reports that track project financial performance.
• Attend client meetings with senior colleagues and document decisions, actions, and follow-up items.
• Participate in design-team meetings and assess the cost implications of proposed changes.
• Help implement agreed cost-management outcomes following design reviews.
• Assist with the development of standardized project templates and reporting documents.
• Prepare and maintain change-order logs, invoice logs, and detailed cost reports.
• Oversee measurement activities and pricing research for development appraisals.
• Support qualification reviews and other cost-management assessments.
• Maintain accurate and consistent project documentation throughout the engagement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, or another cost- or construction-focused field.
• At least 24 months of professional cost-management experience.
• Working knowledge of construction cost planning and project financial control.
• Ability to prepare estimates, cost reports, and supporting project documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with clients, designers, engineers, and project-management teams.
• Ability to evaluate project information and communicate cost implications clearly.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on hyperscale data center construction projects.
• Broad knowledge of construction processes, management methods, and construction materials.
• Advanced proficiency with CostX for producing estimates, measurements, and bills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
• Experience supporting value engineering and life-cycle costing.
• Familiarity with change management, invoice tracking, and construction risk reporting.

Compensation

The expected annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000.

Final compensation may vary based on factors such as work location, role level, relevant skills, and professional experience.
