Remote DevOps Engineer – AWS Cloud Infrastructure & Site Reliability
U.S. Financial Technology (U.S. FinTech) is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to help build, automate, and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure supporting one of the world’s largest mortgage securitization platforms. This full-time remote opportunity is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving system reliability, and developing automation that powers large-scale cloud environments.
If you have experience with AWS, Infrastructure as Code, Python automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud monitoring, this role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical financial technology platforms while collaborating with experienced software engineers and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
Job Overview
As a DevOps Engineer, you will help design, implement, and support scalable cloud infrastructure while improving operational efficiency through automation. You’ll work closely with software development, security, and infrastructure teams to build reliable deployment pipelines, strengthen cloud security, enhance observability, and ensure critical systems remain highly available.
This position combines cloud engineering, automation, software development, and Site Reliability Engineering to support enterprise-scale financial applications running on AWS.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS services and Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment.
- Create monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Splunk, and related observability tools.
- Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Maintain high system availability, scalability, and platform performance.
- Support disaster recovery planning, infrastructure maintenance, and business continuity initiatives.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement automated compliance and vulnerability management processes.
- Develop automation tools and infrastructure code using Python and other modern programming languages.
- Build internal dashboards, utilities, and automation tools that improve engineering productivity.
- Participate in architecture discussions, platform improvements, and on-call support rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 36 months (3 years) of experience managing enterprise cloud infrastructure.
- Minimum 36 months of professional Python development focused on automation.
- At least 24 months of hands-on AWS experience with services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, and API Gateway.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code solutions including Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience with Docker, cloud monitoring, automation, and version control using Git.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps certifications.
- Experience with Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
- Knowledge of machine learning services and AI integration tools.
- Experience with React, REST APIs, relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with chaos engineering, resilience testing, and developer platform engineering.
- Experience building internal engineering tools and cloud automation frameworks.
