Position Overview

The Vice President of Fraud Monitoring will lead FAB’s Fraud Monitoring function within the Financial Crime Operations team. This role involves establishing a 24*7 alert monitoring capability, supervising a diverse team of Fraud Monitoring Analysts and Team Leads, and implementing processes and SOPs to prevent and detect fraud effectively. The VP will ensure adherence to operational standards, oversee performance metrics, and support fraud prevention initiatives across domestic and international operations.

Key Responsibilities

Fraud Monitoring Leadership

  • Lead and supervise a 24*7 Fraud Monitoring team, ensuring daily operations run efficiently.
  • Document and implement SOPs, SLAs, and methodologies to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Coach team members on fraud trends and investigation techniques, enhancing their capabilities.
  • Collaborate with departmental peers and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, to mitigate fraud risk.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Monitor team efficiency, perform rule efficiency analyses, and recommend process or system enhancements to optimize performance.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports, including monthly statistics and alerts summaries for the Head of Fraud Governance & Oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, local regulations, and global best practices.

Strategic & Risk Contributions

  • Contribute to global fraud alert monitoring frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in risk assessments for new products, initiatives, and channels to ensure effective management of risk.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in fraud awareness training and internal knowledge sharing.

Team Development & Culture

  • Organize team workflows, deliver on-the-job training, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, compliance, and value-driven performance.
  • Promote the bank’s ethics, values, and vision across all team activities.

Project & Cross-functional Support

  • Support projects and POCs related to fraud prevention and detection systems.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Legal, HR, and IT, for fraud monitoring initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • ACFE certification is preferred.

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 10 years in fraud monitoring, preferably in banking.
  • At least 4 years of leadership experience managing operational teams.
  • Deep understanding of banking operations and fraud risk management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel to global FAB locations as required.
