Role Overview
Volkswagen Group Services Portugal is seeking a Cloud System Architect to join its Innovation and Engineering (I&E) Hub in Lisbon. This role focuses on designing and implementing cloud systems that support the operations and ecosystems of autonomous vehicles. The architect will play a crucial role in ensuring that autonomous commercial vehicles are efficiently monitored, controlled, and serviced through centralized cloud systems.

Core Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a unified technical and architectural vision for cloud systems supporting autonomous vehicles.
- Validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation options, and develop comprehensive system architectures to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architecture topics and evolve the product landscape.
- Plan and design service ecosystems for future autonomous trucks using agile methodologies.
- Take ownership of system architecture for cloud services interacting with self-driving systems.
- Advise colleagues and teams on cloud architecture challenges and continuous improvement of architecture, services, and processes.
- Proactively solve problems and propose innovative, pragmatic solutions.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience in designing complex cloud solutions in an international environment.
- Solid background in event-driven and distributed system architectures.
- Experience with various architectural patterns and paradigms, emphasizing simplicity and maintainability.
- Hands-on experience with cloud providers, preferably AWS.
- Ability to create precise architecture drawings and present solutions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Hexagonal and highly scalable architectures.
- Knowledge of the SAFE framework.
- Agile mindset and strong team collaboration skills.
- Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.
