Role Overview

As a Model Governance, Risk Management Advisor, you will advise teams on risk models, governance, and compliance frameworks. You will work closely with management, stakeholders, and model controllers to ensure effective execution of model governance across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on the application of risk models and analytical templates.
  • Collaborate with teams to assess risks and their business impact.
  • Review and improve processes to reduce risk exposure.
  • Partner with management to provide feedback on controls and resolutions.
  • Support strategic decision-making in line with evolving regulations and market dynamics.
  • Guide Model Controllers and support Heads of Modeling areas in executing governance strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in risk management and governance.
  • Strong knowledge of model risk management and regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience with the secondary mortgage market or Fannie Mae’s multifamily business.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing model governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences).
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other BI tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in risk assessment, control design, and compliance evaluation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in training modeling teams and developing best practices.
  • Knowledge of Python, Risk Works, or other BI tools.
  • Background in model development, governance, and validation.
  • Proven skills in relationship management and strategic business insight.

Salary & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $138,000 – $180,000 annually (based on skills and experience).
