The Role at a Glance

As a Life Science Sales Representative, the selected candidate will drive revenue growth, provide technical consultation, and generate leads for STERIS consumable products. This role is customer-facing, requiring both strategic planning and direct engagement with clients across Massachusetts counties, including Suffolk, Norfolk, Bristol, Plymouth, and Middlesex.

Success in this role rests on maintaining excellent customer relationships, achieving sales quotas, and delivering tailored solutions that align with the highly regulated life sciences market.

Major Areas of Focus

Driving Business Growth

  • Meet assigned revenue and product sales targets through a consultative sales approach.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities with both new and existing clients.
  • Develop comprehensive territory growth strategies in collaboration with internal teams and partners.
  • Leverage CRM tools to track opportunities, forecast pipelines, and manage accounts effectively.

Customer Consultation & Education

  • Present value-based product solutions that address regulatory requirements and customer challenges.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of contamination control, sterility assurance, and cleaning processes.
  • Stay updated with life sciences market trends, compliance standards, and technological advancements.
  • Represent STERIS at industry events, professional workshops, and client meetings.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Maintain consistent communication with management, clients, and channel partners.
  • Provide accurate reporting on activities, accounts, and pipeline progress.
  • Plan sales calls and travel itineraries to maximize customer engagement and sales effectiveness.

Candidate Background

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years in sales, preferably within cGMP-related industries.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Ability to meet hospital and client credentialing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM, Business, or Engineering.
  • Proven experience in consultative technical sales.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt, self-direct, and set clear priorities.
  • Familiarity with regulated industries such as cGMP or GLP.
  • Membership or involvement in industry organizations, such as PDA or ISPE, is a plus.
