Role Summary

The position supports the XR User Experience Models unit. The student contributes to data pipeline optimization and automation tasks. The role involves hands-on development, process analysis, and prototyping to strengthen 3D workflows within the organization.

Core Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Improvement

The student supports a running “Data Pipeline” initiative. The task focuses on automating data preparation and integration. This includes developing small tools and scripts that reduce manual steps and improve workflow reliability.

Workflow Optimization

The role assists in analyzing existing processes and proposing technical enhancements. The student helps design efficient process flows and contributes to their implementation.

Prototyping and Concept Testing

The student participates in building and showcasing Proof of Concepts. Prototype implementations demonstrate new ideas that help evaluate technology fit and workflow potential.

USD-Based 3D Management

The role supports the adoption of USD for complex 3D scenes. The student helps integrate USD into workflows and assists in testing its impact on large-scale visualization tasks.

Tool and Script Development

The student writes scripts, primarily in Python, to automate conversions, validate data, and support pipeline steps. Additional Bash or C++ scripting is welcome.

Ideal Professional Profile

Education

Applicants must be enrolled in a computer science program, media informatics, visual computing, computational design, digital design, or mechanical engineering with a digital focus, automotive engineering with a digital focus, data science, or a related discipline.

Technical Skills

  • Strong programming or scripting ability. Python is preferred
  • Interest in 3D structures and automation
  • Understanding of standard 3D terms, such as Shader, FBX, and USD
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine, VRED, Blender, or NVIDIA Omniverse is an advantage
