Role Summary

Bunnings is seeking multiple Department Managers for its Geelong region and Western Suburbs warehouses. This leadership role suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced retail environments and enjoy coaching teams to deliver strong commercial results and memorable customer experiences.

The Department Manager takes ownership of their department, leads by example, and plays a key role in daily store operations, visual standards, and team development.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Team Leadership and Engagement

The Department Manager leads a team of direct reports and creates a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture. The role focuses on coaching, feedback, and ongoing team development.

2. Customer Experience Excellence

The role ensures customers receive friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful advice at every interaction. Delivering consistent service standards remains a daily priority.

3. Visual Merchandising and Store Presentation

The Department Manager maintains merchandising standards aligned with business requirements and store marketing plans, ensuring the department remains visually appealing and commercially effective.

4. Operational Performance

The role supports achieving sales, service, and operational targets by working closely with team members and store leaders.

5. Training and Capability Building

The position supports team induction, onboarding, and ongoing product and service training to build confidence and capability across the department.

The ideal candidate brings previous retail leadership experience and demonstrates a strong passion for customer service, people leadership, and merchandising standards. The role suits someone who is approachable, confident, and results-focused.

Experience and Skills Required

Candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work on their feet across a broad retail trading roster

Recruitment Process
