Role Overview
Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II (Java – Security) to join its Internal Access Tooling team within the Security squad. This role centers around building, improving, and maintaining custom solutions that manage and monitor internal access to Wise’s operational systems.
The engineer will ensure that all internal tools are secure, efficient, and auditable, empowering Wise’s teams to operate confidently while maintaining world-class data security.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product engineers, platform engineers, and governance specialists to refine access control mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain seamless, reliable custom tooling for access management.
- Design innovative approaches to strengthen Wise’s security posture.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Continuously optimize internal back-office tooling to support the company’s expanding infrastructure.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
