Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Court of Federal Claims is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join their team as a Case Administrator II, offering a salary range of $55,940 – $90,898. Located conveniently across from the White House, this permanent position in the court’s Operations Office plays a vital role in managing case progression from start to finish.
Case Administrators are responsible for a variety of crucial tasks, including docketing, maintaining official case records, monitoring procedural steps, preparing appeal documents, and ensuring the accuracy of all filings and automated entries. They also interact with the public and legal professionals, providing information and processing payments.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a professional demeanor is essential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Making summary entries on case documents and proceedings.
- Reviewing and processing filed documents for conformity.
- Managing case progression and monitoring deadlines.
- Preparing case files for appeals and maintaining official records.
- Providing information and assistance to the public and bar.
Qualifications:
- One year of specialized clerical or administrative experience at a level equivalent to CL-24.
- Demonstrated ability to apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Experience with automated software for word processing, data entry, and report generation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, political science, criminal justice, law, or a related field.
- Five years of specialized experience may substitute for the degree.
