About the Opportunity

Porkbun is hiring a full-time Live Technical Support Representative to help customers resolve domain, DNS, hosting, email, payment, and other technical issues through phone, chat, and email support.

This is a U.S.-based remote position with fixed Pacific Time support hours. Weekend availability is mandatory, including both Saturday and Sunday.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide live technical assistance to customers primarily through phone and chat, with email support as needed.
  • Troubleshoot domain registration, domain transfers, DNS configuration, hosting, email setup, website connectivity, and payment-related issues.
  • Explain technical concepts clearly and guide customers through practical solutions.
  • Diagnose problems while remaining calm and helpful during stressful customer situations.
  • Deliver personalized customer service across multiple support channels.
  • Help customers with common tasks such as connecting domains to external services, configuring hosted email, and purchasing hosting products.

Required Experience

Candidates need at least two years of technical support experience in either an internal help-desk or customer-facing environment.

Experience with domains, DNS, or web hosting is required. Porkbun also indicates that candidates with particularly strong live technical support experience may qualify when their domain or hosting background is less extensive.

Technical and Customer Support Skills

The role requires strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability, professional written communication, and the ability to provide high-quality live support by phone and chat.

Candidates should be comfortable learning new technologies and supporting customers across multiple channels.

Remote Work Requirements

This role is based in the United States. Candidates must be eligible for employment in the U.S., have a stable internet connection, and have a quiet workspace suitable for live customer support.

The position is performed in a remote-work environment.

Schedule

Both Saturday and Sunday availability are mandatory.

Porkbun is currently hiring for support schedules covering U.S. time zones, including:

  • Saturday through Wednesday, 9 AM–5 PM Pacific Time; or
  • Thursday through Monday, 9 AM–5 PM Pacific Time.

Each eight-hour shift includes a total of one hour of paid breaks.

Compensation

The starting salary range is $45,000 to $55,000 USD per year plus benefits.

Candidates with substantial professional experience at a domain registrar or hosting company may be considered toward the higher end of the stated range.

How to Apply

Porkbun requires candidates to follow its application instructions carefully. Applicants should send a resume and cover letter as two separate PDF files and answer the employer’s qualifying questions concerning U.S. employment eligibility, relevant technical support experience, and weekend availability.
